Cary Harrison is the founder and driving force behind Reality Check Live. Cary was spawned from the Mayflower and Abe Lincoln on his mother’s side and signers of the Declaration and Constitution on the other. As such, Cary strongly believes in democratizing radio and propelling a strong voice for multiculturalism, inclusion, and for free-flowing, accurate information.

He is a veteran of New York drive-time radio, CBS commentaries in Chicago, and a pioneer on SiriusXM with the first LGBT network morning show. He has decades of experience in Radio and social/political activism and his experience has equipped him with the skills and understanding to master the overlap between the two. Over the years, Cary has been involved with various radio networks, which have given him access to know and interview many of the nation’s leading political, social, and celebrity public figures.

AWARDS: Millions have enjoyed Harrison’s free-range perspective, commentary and satire, earning him Vanderbilt University’s distinguished Siegenthaler Award for integrity, intelligence and courage in the field of journalism, the Sigma Delta Chi award—the highest honor bestowed for public service by the Society of Professional Journalists, top honors—two years’ running—from American Women in Radio & Television for exposé reporting and investigative journalism, and 1st place honors for “Best Commentary” from the Associated Press. Harrison has been honored by the UN, the Mayor and City Councils of West Hollywood/LA for his Environmental and Peace work, The LA Press Club for News coverage, and was recently nominated for an Edward R. Murrow Award in Public Radio.

Mercy Malick has been part of the Reality Check Live/Smart Show/GoHarrison team since 2010.  She is a graduate of Stanford University with degrees in Communication and Political Science.  Mercy completed the Journalism, Documentary Filmmaking, and Communication Theory cores, as well as coauthoring two studies published in The American Journal of Communication.  Her Political Science foci were electoral politics and race relations.  Mercy has previously co-hosted shows on AMC, Animal Planet, and the former G4.  She is frequently seen on television and in movies playing journalists and newscasters, in addition to a host of other characters.  Mercy credits her activism with a childhood spent at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Las Vegas, at the time the headquarters for the Nevada Desert Experience.  She names NDL founder Fr. Louis Vitale and “a host of feisty nuns” as her greatest social justice inspirations.
